Chapter 12
Chapter 12 (Questions About My Parallel World)

Chapter Description: I’ve got questions for Brian about this new world we’re living in after my nap. With my questions answered, playtime and movies are a foot. I love this new world. Learning new stuff is fun and being able to do with my big brother is even better!

Location: Brian’s Residence, Skyward Villas Apartments, Kirkwood, Missouri, United States of America
My eyes slowly open and find Brian towering over me wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans. I turn to my right and find I’m lying on a changing mat. I giggle as ice cold baby wipes contact my skin and I kick my legs, causing my purple T-shirt to flutter, “COLD!”
Brian chuckles as he tosses the wipe into the old Pampers Baby Dry diaper resting to his left and lowers my legs so he can roll the old diaper into a ball, “Good afternoon, sleepyhead.” Brian grabs the baby powder with his right hand and lifts my legs with his left so he can powder my uplifted bottom, “Did you have a good nap?”
I rub my eyes as Brian sets the powder down and flicks a fresh Pampers Baby Dry diaper unfolded, “Uh huh! Where’s Mommy?” I giggle when the soft diaper is brought up to my belly and I scan the light green landing zone and multicolored circles. “I love my diapeys.”
Brian smiles as he secures the left tape of my diaper, “Mom left after I came home. I guess you were so sleepy you forgot.” Brian secures the right tape of the diaper and lifts me into the air, “And…” Brian sets me on my feet to deliver a loving pat to my freshly diapered bottom, “All dry, Stacinator.”
“Thankies, Brian.” I dart my eyes toward Brian and waddle after him. I cross my arms and pout when he shuts the bathroom door behind himself. “Brian?”
Brian hums as he handles his business and then begins washing his hands, “What’s up, Stace?”
“I wanted to ask you something.” I sway back and forth on my bare feet whilst my Pampers crinkle, “It’s about this parallel world we’re living in.”
Brian dries his hands and opens the bathroom door, “Sure.” He walks over to the couch and sits down on the right-hand seat. He picks up his iPad and opens the HISTORY app, “Come here, Stacinator.”
“Otay!” I waddle-run over to Brian and rest my hands on his knees whilst showing off my mouth full of baby teeth with my smile, “What?”
Brian sets the iPad down to his right and scoops me into the air, “I’m gonna show you, Silly Baby.” He sets me in his lap and grabs the iPad, “See the buttons on the purple background?”
I nod as I scan the American History, African History, and European History buttons. I tap American History and my eyes widen at the timeline 1700s – 1800s – Colonial America and Victorian America, 1860-1900 – The Civil War and The United States of America and The United Kingdoms of Africa. “Ooooh. United Kingdoms of Africa?” I turn to Brian with wide eyes, “So this is the difference in this world?”
Brian boops my nose, “Tap the button, Silly.”
I giggle as I return my attention to the iPad, “Okay!” I press the button and a female voice gently echoes from the iPad…
“The Civil War started in February of 1861 when the newly formed Confederate States of America attacked Fort Sumter. This however was offset by the African Slave Rebellions sparked across the Confederacy the following month. African slaves led by Harriet Tubman and Nat Turner reduced the effectiveness of the Confederacy’s war with the Union by raiding their armories and commandeering their key plantations across the states of Texas and South Carolina.”
My eyes widen as the iPad shows off the map of the United States and C.S.A where the C.S.A. is slowly losing ground against the African Slave Rebellion, “That’s so cool!”
The female voice continues as the map fills in with the entire south being covered in purple with a brown, green, and yellow Confederate flag having the African Continent and a black fist superimposed on it, “By 1866 the African Slave Rebellion, known across North America as the African Liberators reclaimed the Confederacy from the people who saw them as less than human.
This was the ultimate defeat of the Confederacy. When the Union troops reached Texas and expected to be fighting Confederate soldiers, they found Harriet Tubman and Nat Turner wearing purple uniforms with the guns they gained from their campaigns of fighting Confederate battalions. From this point, March 5, 1866, the United States declared the African people free and recognized them as fully human citizens of the reunited United States of America.”
“Wow…” I blink twice as the map fades to reveal President Lincoln, Harriet Tubman, and Nat Turner in the Oval Office of the United States White House signing the African Liberation Treaty. “So, the African Liberation Treaty established Civil Rights for all Africans in the United States.” I swipe right on the picture and the woman’s voice begins again…
“Even though Africans in America were full citizens of the nearly torn apart America, half of them returned to their native Africa to reclaim that land from slavers within their own ranks and from European powers of the era. By March 5, 1900, the United Kingdoms of Africa had solidified its name on the world stage and aided the United States in repelling British forces that sought to retake America during the Civil War.”
“That’s so awesome!” I set my iPad down in Brian’s lap and waddle into the kitchen to grab a baby bottle of lemonade. “Hee…” I waddle back into the living room and pout when I realize I can’t crawl back into Brian’s lap, “Brian…help.”
Brian chuckles and lifts me into his lap, “There you go.”
I giggle and pop my bottle into my mouth. I smile around the bottle as I suckle the delicious lemonade while holding the iPad in my left hand. I hold my bottle taut with my right hand and point to the iPad with my right hand a few seconds before returning it to holding my bottle.
Brian smiles and taps the play button in the middle of the video/map.
“From this point onward, the United States of America and United Kingdoms of Africa, flying under their African Confederacy flag, were sworn allies. Allied because the Africans gained the respect and fear of the American people due to their tenacity against the traitorous Confederacy. By 1910 the two countries, without racism to divide them, worked together to advance their civilizations farther. From the simple creation of biodegradable plastics for use in diapers and containers for food, to the creation of the first microchip in 1920, the United States of America and the United Kingdoms of Africa prospered and shared their prosperity with each other.”
I pop my empty bottle from my mouth and smile, “That’s awesome! So…” I scan the iPad and set my empty bottle down to my right, “So that means our technology has been developed up to this point a lot earlier than before?”
Brian nods as he watches me close the video, “Yeah. If you had continued the video, it would have shown that by the 1930s electric cars and homes would have been commonplace, and the modern computers that we’re using now came into being in 1945.” Brian smiles and ruffles my hair, “If you tap on European History, you’ll find out that Nazi Germany never came to be because of the simple fact that the United Kingdoms of Africa as a part of their treaty with the United States of America forbid them from interfering in European Affairs unless the European nations attacked first.”
“That makes sense.” I blink twice at Brian’s statement and flip through the iPad screens, “So without America funding Germany’s rebuilding after World War I, the country never was able to finance and blame minorities for their own failings during World War I and thus the Nazis and Hitler never rose to power. Awesome!”
I swipe right and the screen flips back to the World History home page, “That’s so cool!” I train my happy eyes on Brian, “What about the environment and stuffs? How is everything electric and stuff?”
Brian ruffles my hair and chuckles, “You flipped through the pages too quick. That was one of the key benefits of the American-African Equity Treaty. United Americans and United Africans of both countries would pursue technologies such as solar, geothermal, wind, and Aeroelectrical power.”
       I tilt my head, “Aeroelectrical?”
Brian boops my nose, “You missed a lot in the maps and such.”
I bow my head and press my index fingers together while I swing my legs, allowing my Pampers to crinkle, “I get distracted by all the pretty pictures, Brian.” I giggle and train my happy eyes on him, “I’m only four you know.”
Brian ruffles my hair, “I know. So, aeroelectricity is the technology that the United Kingdoms of Africa created and exported to the United States first for them to test it out. It taps into the magnetic energy field of the planet and takes any solar wind from the sun that hits Earth’s magnetic field to retrieve the power needed for the world’s electricity to be created.”
My eyes widen and I bounce up and down in my spot, “That’s AWESOME! So…so how much power is that?” I jump down from the couch and giggle as I sway from side to side whilst my Pampers crinkle with my happy movements, “The sun is basically a big ball of nuclear energy. That…that means we have unlimited electrical power with that aeroelectricity technology the United Kingdom of Africa created. Right?”
Brian rises from the couch with a nod, “Yep, that’s correct. This parallel world of ours is quite the nice one.” Brian kneels and ruffles my hair, resulting in my swaying coming to an end. “The fact that aeroelectricity flows across the planet and that everyone has the ability to get what’s needed is what makes this world a nice place to live.”
“Yeah!” I giggle when Brian raspberries my belly, “HEY!” I backpedal and cover my belly with my hands, “No tummy raspberries!”
Brian inches toward me and lifts me into his arms, “Alright.” He cradles me and tickles my bare feet, “Tickle! Tickle! Tickle!”
“EEEEEEEEEE!” My squeals of joy echo across the apartment and I kick my legs as Brian’s tickling energy vibrate across my tiny body, “BRIAN! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!”
Brian smiles as he stops tickling my feet, “Sorry, I couldn’t resist.” and sets me on my feet with a loving pat to my padded bottom.
I giggle as I waddle over to the balcony and scan the sun shining across the neighborhood, “I’m glad we’re here.” I turn back to Brian and waddle-run toward him when he rises from the couch.
Before Brian can step toward his bedroom, he feels a weight against his lower half. He glances down and ruffles my hair, “What is it, Stacinator?”
I smile toward Brian and poke his belly, “Don’t leave me alone.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.” Brian lifts me into his arms and walks toward his bedroom, “I was just gonna to write a letter to a friend.” He sets me on my feet in front of his bed and sits down at his computer to type out his text to his friend.
I waddle past Brian’s bed and tug on his shirt right as he presses send, “Brian?”
Brian turns to me and rises from his seat, “Yeah?” He sidesteps around me and heads toward the living room while giggling at the pitter-patter of my tiny feet behind him, “What is it?”
When Brian stops in the middle of the living room, I wrap my arms around his waist and smile toward him, “Who were you writing to? Are they gonna come over?”
Brian chuckles as he lifts me into his arms and sits down on the couch with me standing in his lap, “Their name is David, and I was hoping they could come over. I was just writing to check on them really. We haven’t talked a lot since we graduated college and I figured they could come over and chat.”
“Cool.” I boop Brian’s nose and giggle, “I bet they’ll be shocked to find out you’ve got a baby brother now.”
Brian chuckles as he grabs the remote, “Probably.” and delivers a playful swat to my diapered bottom. “Sit down, Crinklebutt. Let’s watch a movie.”
“YEAH!” I sit down in Brian’s lap and giggle as he flips through the movies, “MONSTER HOUSE!”
Brian smiles as he selects the movie and I hop off his lap, “Where are you going, Stacey?”
“Getting snacks and lemonade.” I giggle as I waddle-run into the kitchen and use my stepladder to gain access to the cupboards that hold the chocolate bars and popcorn. With two bags of cheddar popcorn and two bags of KitKat minis on the counter, I pull down a giant plastic bowl and set the sweets inside. “GOT EM!” I waddle-run into the living room and set the bowl down to Brian’s left.
Brian chuckles at all the junk food and watches me waddle into the kitchen for the lemonade bottles, “Don’t run, Stacey. I don’t want you to hurt yourself.”
I wobble when I lose my footing seconds after Brian’s warning and rest my hands against the counter, “Otay!” I whimper as I open the fridge to grab three baby bottles of lemonade and one 24-ounce bottle of lemonade. “Yes!” I waddle toward the living room at a snail’s pace so that I don’t drop anything.
When I reach Brian, I set his bottle in his lap and drop my bottles next to the bowl. “Alrighty.” I crawl onto the couch and sit down to Brian’s left while he passes me my baby bottles along with a bag of KitKat minis and a bag of popcorn. I smile toward him as I rip the bag open and the movie starts, “Let’s GOOOOO!”
Brian chuckles as the movie begins and he smiles while enjoying the sweets with me. Yeah, this is perfect. A little history lesson and then a movie. What better way to spend the afternoon.

Brian’s eyes widen when the house tries to eat one of the kids and he winces when I jump into his lap knocking the popcorn bag out of his lap. “Oh Stace…” He rubs my back and pats my bottom as the movie continues, “Nothing to be scared of.” He picks up the bag he thankfully closed with a clip, “It’s just a movie.” and sets it down with the other junk food.
I train my fearful eyes on Brian and smile, “Yeah, I know.” I squirm in his lap as hissing echoes around me as my fear dies down, causing my Pampers wetness indicator to fade from yellow to yellow-green, “That little bit just scared me is all. I can handle it.”
Brian ruffles my hair and pops a KitKat miniature into his mouth, “Alright. Just let me know when you wanna watch something else.” Even if he’s a toddler, he still has that determination I knew him for when he was an adult. It’s nice to know my best friend and brother is still there, even if he’s an adorable little tot now.

As always, wonderful chapter! I’ve always had a hard time finding anything to do with History fun or intriguing. However, the way you explained it in such great detail did have me engrossed, so props for that! Also, I think Stace might have an addiction to lemonade XD
