Chapter Description: Elliott used his farm background to start something that could fill his time. It soon became even more.
Tales from the ARVInn:
Elliott, Chicken Little
Elliott Springer
(7/2003) was a farm boy through and through.
He grew up on the family farm near Youngstown and kept it going when his
parents passed. Even after contracting
ARV in 2056, he persevered. When urban growth and a lack of family help finally
forced him to sell, he came to ARVInn in 2076, looking for a new start.
What he found was an opportunity
to use what he knew with a different twist.
He started by raising a few show birds in a cage behind the warehouse.
This soon led to a fascination and a desire to do more.
Purchasing some property nearby,
he quickly built a thriving business.
Raising chickens for the table and raising rare breeds for show don’t
really need different skills or equipment.
He just had to add the facility for prep and sales. His operation provides locals with fresh
chicken and eggs, gives work to a dozen others and allows him the chance to
travel to trade and competitive shows around the country.
Not a bad life for a
seven-year-old, even though he has to enter the adult divisions. Just takes a little something to stand on to
reach some of the bins in the chick shed.
