Chapter Description: Daniel had just settled into a new way of living when he found himself in a really new life.
Tales from the ARVInn—Daniel Crain, Off-Grid
Daniel Crain was living his best life at forty-six. He had just settled on a ninety-acre farm with a log cabin built before the Civil War by a several times great-grandfather. His plan was to live mostly off-grid, just as self-sufficient as it was possible to be, in the manner of his eighteenth-century ancestors. His inspiration was fueled by online communities promoting the concept as well as stories he’d heard from a neighboring county while he was growing up.
After spending nearly twenty years as a carpenter and
general handyman, he’d learned a thing or two about everything. He said his experience was like a river out
West, described as “a mile wide and an inch deep,” and sometimes just enough to
get himself in trouble.
