Prelude

Chapter Description: When we last visited:

Annie (a newly-minted widow) met Penny (a retired lawyer) in a park. Penny was experiencing an unreal life problem and needed a good meal. Later, after entering a contract negotiation with Natasha (a businessman with an interest in souls) Annie discovered that she and Penny had a common problem in that Natasha wasn’t the fairest of businessmen who cut corners to bring his contracts to fruition earlier than the set deadline.

After Penny moved in with Annie as a housemate, the two experienced several endearing moments of personal bonding, and Annie, with the help of an outside source, overcame Natasha’s onerous contract. Unfortunately, Penny was still on the hook.
