Chapter Description: The meeting Nick's mom went to before he woke up little.
Susan followed the rest of the parents into the auditorium as they all sat down. She sat down next to Samantha’s mother and father. They had been prepped about what the meeting was about. They knew that it involved the kids grades and what they needed to do about it. Susan greeted Sam’s mom as she sat down with a friendly "Hello. Hows Sam doing."
"Oh hi," Sam’s mom replied taking notice of her, "Sam is doing great. She told me they had a great time at the prom."
"Oh yeah I herd."
"So, do you know what they are going to talk about." Sam’s mom asked.
"I herd rumors that it has something to do about not letting some of the kids walk."
"They better let Sam walk. She at least passed all her classes."
"Yeah I’m sure she’ll be fine. I’m worried whether or not Nick will be able to walk."
A man in a suit came out onto a stage as all the parents found their seats. He greeted them all with a "Hello." Once everyone was silent he continued with what he had to say "I’m sure you’re wondering why you’re here today or even wondering who I am. Well let me introduce myself. I am James Clarkson of the Department of Education. I am here today because the government has taken notice of the low test grades that this class has had. We don’t know why they are so much further behind than the rest of the state, but we do know hat they can not be permitted to graduate, so we are offering a solution to the problem. For those of you who agree you will be compensated immensely. Please hold any questions you have for the Q and A section of this meeting. We are proposing to give your children a drug known as infantifalidomide. It’s a drug that essentially will regress your children in age and mind." Murmurs could be herd from the crowd as they talked among themselves. "Now I know some of you will be against this, but let me first explain your options before you choose. We can give your child this drug and they will become 16-17 years younger and we will fully pay for anything you need as well as compensate you for any troubles. They will grow up again and we will give them the best education they could possibly hope for, and we will pay in full for their college tuition. If you choose this option then we guarantee that your child will go to a good school of their choosing and we will make sure they are set up to have a bright future. If you do not take this option then your kid will not be graduating from this school and we will not give you any financial benefits. They will either have to dropout and work a low paying job for the rest of their lives or they will have to go to summer school to get the rest of the credits they need to graduate. Even if they do pass summer school and graduate which I doubt they will, based on their testing score, we will not support you in any way for college or in any other way."
The evening went on for hours with questions and answering until every parent was in agreement with this option, they had people talk to each parent individually. Susan could sworn the man that talked to her had injected her with something when she shook his hand, but forgot about the stinging sensations rather quickly as the man explained to her the treatment. After talking to the man for a little bit Susan became excited at the notion of getting her baby back. She missed taking such care of her loved one and knew that this would be the best option for Nick.
The graduating class of...
