Chapter 5
At the Arcade

Chapter Description: Something fishy is going on here. Will Seth put two and two together?

It was fairly early the next day when Seth woke up. He felt groggy and he had trouble remembering the previous night’s events. Seth looked around his room to see that nothing had changed. The walls were still sea foam, the bed sheets, the couch. Nothing was different at all. Seth got out of bed and went into the bathroom with some clothes. Inside, he went to change when he happened to glance into the mirror. Normally, Seth hated mirrors. He thought anyone who looked into one more then once every three or four days on purpose to spruce was considered, but in the reflection of the mirror, his jaw dropped.

Seth looked even thinner then normal. He wasn’t sure, but he thought he looked shorter to. Everyone at Seth’s work liked to joke that Seth was an old man in a kid’s body. Maybe his body was catching up? Seth pulled on his clothes, relived to find that the fit like normal. He must be hallucinating.

After breakfast, Seth saw another letter on the bed. This one was wrote the exact same way as Rodger’s first letter, but this one said that video games, computer time, and swimming were todays activities and LJ would be his partner again. Seth was relived, after all he could actually win at video games!

When Seth reached the arcade room, there was only one other person in the room. A little boy, apparently about 10, sat on the floor, crying. The kid had long, shinny brown hair that reached his rear, and was wearing a robin’s egg blue.

“Hey, kid, are you alright?” Seth asked kindly.

“Who wants to know?” The kid said as he turned around.

“Seth! Its Seth!” The little boy said, with tears still welled up in his eyes,

“Whoa, how do you know my name?” Seth asked.

“You bonehead, its me! LJ!” the kid screamed.

“Aw, I didn’t know LJ had a son! Aw, you look just like your daddy!”

“You are an idiot!” the little boy wailed as the tears began to flow, “I’m not ’pposed to be a kid, my name is LJ! LJ!” Just then a police officer rushed in a picked up the little boy.

“Sorry, sir. This one must have gotten lost from his parents. I’ll take his back. Oh, and if you see a Mr. Seth Yoles, his partner is ill and can’t make it.”

“I’m his partner! I’m LJ!!” The little boy wailed again.

“No you’re not,” The police officer said, almost sympathetically, “Your just his poor little boy who happened to get lost and misses his daddy very much.”

“Oh well, am I supposed to play by my self then?” Seth asked.

“Wha, oh yeah! Bye yourself. See you later.” And with that, the policeman carried the little boy out of the arcade room.
