Alice is a young woman who spent her childhood under an overbearing mother. Getting away to college was a revelation, allowing her to discover a world that she hadn't experienced growing up. Now college is over and Alice is returning home. She hopes her mother has chilled out, but it doesn't take long to realise that, college or not, her mother still sees her as the little girl she kept under supervision for her whole childhood. When the stress starts having an effect on Alice's body she is quickly discovered and things get worse from there. Despite her arguing and pleading everything starts to slide down a slippery slope that Alice can't stop. Can anything or anyone get her away from the madness? Content Warning: This story strays into emotional abuse territory as it goes on. I feel it's handled OK, but be aware of that when going in.

After being kicked out from college, Anna and Ryan now find themselves almost destitute and shunned from society. It is a difficult life, but it is one they chose when they refused to give in to the ideals of Sallas, a place of extreme misogyny which believes a woman's place is as little more than a baby. With black marks on their records, they're not going anywhere fast... That is until a man from the government shows up at their door with an offer they simply cannot refuse (if they do they'll be sent to the dreaded Finishing School). What follows is a transformation from social outcasts into two of the most well-known people in the country, being used to market Sallas ideals both at home and abroad. Materially, Anna's position improves a great deal, but... Morally? That is something she struggles with as she is forced to lie to the cameras. It would seem like that was how the married couples lives would go, used as pawns for the government. However, a mysterious phone call from a woman known only as "Thorn" suddenly changes everything. All of a sudden there seems to be a new possibility, one that is just too tempting for Anna, the thing she desired above all else. Escape. Will Anna risk a reasonably comfortable existence for the freedom she has always dreamt of? Is she willing to risk the lives of those closest to her? Can "Thorn" be trusted?
