Chapter Description: Sam goes to the doctor's office
I haven’t been to the doctors office since sophomore year of high school. Kind of embarrassed that it was the pediatricians office none the less. Same doctor who had known me since I was a baby.
My mom had me sit in the waiting room while she went to the font desk to go tell them I was here. She filled out some medical papers and then came over to join me in waiting.
Finally after about 5 minutes of my mom pointing out what looked new here a nurse came out and asked "Sam Miller?" MY mom and I immediately stood up and walked over to the door that she poked her head out of. "Hello. Are you here for a check up?"
My mom responded before I could saying "No we are actually here cause my son seems to have gotten just a little bit younger."
"Well he is 18 almost 19, but just this mourning when i woke him up he looked to be only about 16 or 17."
"huh. Well follow me down this way and the doctor should be in shortly." She said leading us into an exam room.
We sat down and waited for the doctor. He came in only a few moments later saying "Hello. It’s been quite a bit since your last appointment I see," checking his chart. "How are we doing today?"
"Not good." my mom responded putting her hand on my leg in reassurance.
"So. I was told that Sam here has gotten younger over night. Is that right?" The doctor said sounding interested and a little skeptical.
"Yes. I know to that’s a little far fetched, but I just saw him the other day and he looks younger than he did yesterday. Noticeably younger."
"Well if only that would happen to me." the doctor said with a smirk trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah I know right. Nightmare for a teen and a blessing for us." My mom said playfully.
"Okay. Well could you wait outside while I talk to Sam and do a quick examination. My mom left the room leaving me with the doctor. He went on asking me questions that a doctor would at any appointment and then had me strip down to just my boxer briefs and did a physical examination. When we were done with that I put all my clothes back on and my mom was invited back into the room.
"So? whats the deal?" My mom asked as I pulled my shirt over my head.
"Well. He seems healthy. We will take some blood and see what that shows. Other than that I don’t know what to tell you."
"Is he going to keep getting younger?" My mom asked
"I don’t know. If he has gotten younger then I haven’t ever heard of a case like this. It could just be something that might make him look a little younger. Even then I have no idea what it could be. My advice would be to keep and eye on him. If anything new pops up please give me a call right away. I will call you when the blood work comes back."
After getting some blood taken we headed back home with no real answers.
