Jayden!!

Chapter Description: Begin! Syrus VS The Stranger!

Syrus quickly reached a fog-filled area and to his horror there was a duel going on. A rather large and odious woman was dueling what looked to be a small boy. By field size, the boy was clearly winning but the woman had him down to 1000 life points. It was the woman’s turn.

“Now that it’s my turn, I’ll draw a card from my deck. And now thanks to the card in my graveyard, I get to summon to monsters to the field!”

“What? TWO monsters?” Syrus exclaimed.

“Not again,” the boy moaned.

“I summon Baby Beast Cub and Baby Seedling to the field in Attack mode!” Two of the least threating monsters Syrus had ever seen materialized onto the duel field. One being what appeared to be a lion cub, like one from a Disney movie Syrus saw when he was small, while the other was no more than a pine cone with angery eyes.

“Now, since the Cursed Seal of Eternal Youth is in play,” The woman started, “My Baby Beast Cub can attack your life points directly! Go! Premature Pummel!” The lion sat straight up, blinked a few times, and started to attack the boy.

“Not if I can help it!” The boy replied. “Go, Hero Barrier! While I have an Elemental Hero in play, like my Flame Wingman, I can negate your attack!” Syrus looked over to see the boys field, and sure enough the Flame Wingman was on the field.

I didn’t even recognize him, Syrus thought. He looks so, young! Are those diapers?

“Silly little Jaden, you can’t stop a mother’s love, activate your effect Baby Seedling!”

Jaden? Syrus though. “JAYDEN!!!” Syrus didn’t see it at first, but that little boy WAS Jaden, only with light freckles dotting his face, an up-turned nose, and (of course) shorter.

“What!?” Jaden responded.

“My Baby Seedling has a special effect, silly!” The woman replied. “When an effect of a card is activated as a chain to one of my Baby Monster’s attacks, I can sacrifce Baby Seedling to negate your card and increase one of my Baby Monster’s attack power by 1000!”

“No!”

“Yes! Baby Beast Cub, complete your direct attack and drain Jaden’s life points to zero!” As the blow landed and the life point meter fell, Syrus watched as his best friend’s age slipped with it. Once the life point meter stopped, Jaden of Slifer Red was no more, replaced by a baby wearing a red one-piece pajamas.

“Aww, isn’t the baby so cute?” The woman said in baby-talk as she picked up a terrified child.

“Yess ’e is! Yess ’e is!”
