Chapter 11
Melody of Rain

Chapter Description: Carrie sneaks into Alision's work to see if a cure for Susan can be found.

*For all intents and purposes this chapter is from the point of view of Carrie*

Through most of my time at school, I never really had any friends to speak of. I was always into science fiction, aliens and what not, and all the other girls thought that I was weird. I couldn’t say that I my home life was much better either. My parents were always off working and I would often times be left alone. Alone. To be so alone. Things didn’t get any better has I got older. My body was nearly as well endowed as some of my other classmates, and I felt lonelier as time went on. I joined cheerleading to maybe make some friends, but that failed as well, and I was left alone again. Alone. That’s how I felt that morning as well. I didn’t really see anything different about her at the time. She just seemed to be the new girl at school, but she actually took the time to get to know me. She gave me the time of day, and for the first time I didn’t really feel so alone.

I soon learned that there was more to Susan Weathers that met the eye. It was hard to imagine that the girl who became my friend, used to be a 44 year old. But I watched Susan become younger and younger. I decided to stay by her and watch over her but I wished that there were something more that I could do for her.

That’s why I came here today, a chance to help the first true friend that I ever had. Yeah, I know that breaking into a place like this is illegal, but Susan needed my help, and I couldn’t let her just continue to regress. It was a rainy day. I always like the sound of a gentle rainstorm. The office was closed for the weekend, and I was able to get into the front door with a lock pick. It kind of made me feel like a secret agent of sorts, like a female James Bond or Jack Bauer. It kind of made me hope that there were infrared laser grids and stuff for me to try to evade. Actually, the place really didn’t have any security at all. Kind of a letdown really; some armed guards would have made this more dangerous.

I got to the office door; locked as expected and I was able to get into there with ease. I sat down at the computer and put in my flash drive. I began digging for files, anything that might be truly helpful for Susan. I was actually surprised to find a good amount of information, although I didn’t quite know how much of it would be able to help Susan. There were quite a good amount of charts, DNA models; stuff that I didn’t quite understand and would fit in with some stuff at Area 51. I pulled it all to my flash drive hoping doctors might be able to use it. It was then that I found it! A list of ingredients on how to make a cure to stop the regression! I made sure that I moved to the flash drive and then removed it and put it in my pocket. Susie could return to normal!

“Find something interesting on there did you now?” A voice called out from behind me. Crap! I’m busted!

“Oh, this isn’t my office. Darn it! I’m really sorry. This looks just like my office.” I laughed nervously as I turned around and saw whom it was. Based on what Susie told me it had to be Allison.

“Really, because you know that the silent alarm was tripped and the locks to this office and the front door were picked open.” Alison questioned me.

“Well, I forgot my keys at home and it seemed like such a pain to have to go back to get them.” I laughed nervously.

“I take it that you are Carrie. Susie’s babysitter.” Wait, she knows about me?

“How do you know that?”

“Megan has been quite helpful in keeping me up to date on everything that has been happening at that house. She really is quite resourceful. She’s been able to scoop up quite a bit of information about you. Carrie Connor, Age 14, Never really fits at school, parents are never really home.”

“And I know about you too. About your plan to get Richard by turning Susie into a drooling baby.”

“Oh, so you are informed as well,” Alison snickered a bit. “Did you know that a long time ago I babysat Susie?

“You did?”

“Yeah, I never really was big on the whole babysitting thing myself. Kind of thought that she was an obnoxious brat, but hey, I needed money.” She slowly moved closer to me. “I take it that you do it because she’s your friend and you want to help her.”

“Yes I do. And I’ll help her even if I have to get past you.” I started to make a bolt for the door, but she grabbed me and took a firm hold of my whole body.

“Ah, Carrie. You see I really can’t let you do that. I have plans for a happy future with Richard.” I tried struggling to get away but she was much stronger then me. “And you see, I really can’t have you interfering with my plans.” She put her arm around my neck while she reached into her pocket and grabbed something, I couldn’t really see what it was. She then tried to shove whatever it was down my throat. I tried to stop her from doing it, but she forced me to swallow it and as soon as I did, my whole body began to tingle. It was a very pleasurable feeling, like my body was melting, but I soon realized that it was far more then just that.

My shirt began devouring me as it and the entire room got much larger very quickly. My breasts retreated into my chest, first as little swollen bumps, then back to plain flatness. The pubic hair that I had grown receded as well, and my regular hair soon became very short and wispy. “What did you do to me?” I asked noticing how high my voice got, returning back to that of a little girl.

“Just a little rejuvenation pill, although this one has been modified a bit.” Alison laughed as she continued to tower over my dwindling frame. I tried to run but I was soon tripping over my very large clothes. Looking in the reflection of the office glass, I looked about seven and the regression didn’t seem to be stopping. I ditched the pants and just decided to run. To get away from her. If I could hide somewhere, maybe I could do something if the regression stopped. I grabbed the flash drive and ran out the door, not caring if I was being followed. However, the stairs seemed like such a long distance away, and I soon realized that I was covering less and less ground every second. Eventually I came to a crashing halt when I tripped and fell to the ground. I tried to get back up, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t walk anymore! I then tried to crawl away as fast I could, my shirt now abandoned and many sizes too big for me, just clutching on to the flash drive. And then a switch was flipped in side of my mind. Why was I trying to get away? It was at that point my body stopped. I couldn’t crawl anymore, even if I had wanted to. I started to cry then, I was scared, and I didn’t know what was going on. The world seemed so big to me now, I wanted someone to tell me it was okay. I couldn’t really remember anything now; I was a little baby in body and mind. That’s when Alison came over and picked me up. “It’s okay little Carrie. You shouldn’t have interfered in things that don’t concern you though. Well, that won’t be a problem anymore.” She then promptly picked up her shoe and crushed the flash drive, leaving it in pieces on the floor. It didn’t matter to me though anymore, I was content just being in someone’s arms.

I was asleep for quite a while. I know that we were in a car, and I could hear the pitter patter of raindrops on the car window. It was soothing to hear the melody of rain, and it kept me relaxed. She stopped the car at a building that I was not familiar with. She placed me into a baby carriage and set me at the front steps of the building. “Now Carrie, I need you to be a good girl okay?” she told me. “This is an orphanage, and you’ll need to be a good girl to be adopted some day.” And she rang the doorbell and just left me there. Sitting underneath the roof of orphanage. But that didn’t matter to me. The sound of the rain was very calming and I didn’t even notice that once again I was alone.

******************************************

“Susie?” Richard noticed that I was staring out looking at the rain falling. “What are you looking at?”

“Carrie hasn’t come over today.” I said continuing to look out the window.

“She might have had something else to do today.”

“Yeah, I guess so.” I said sadly, hoping that she would come over soon, as I listened to the sounds of the rain.

To be continued...
