Chapter 3
ARVInn: Residents--Glenn Cranbrook, Teacher

Tales from the ARVInn—Glenn Cranbrook, Teacher

Glenn Cranbrook was the lead English Department teacher at Livingston High School in North Platte, NE.  At 5’11”, he was accustomed to not always being the tallest in the room, especially when he had a class of seniors.  He also coached the cross country and track teams, which fit right in with his own running career, which saw him hold a state record for the 3200-meter run at one point.  He liked nothing better than getting out and running with a gang of boys and girls around the school’s course.  The course began next to the school and wound through a farm belonging to one of the members of the county school board and through a county park along the Platte River.  Glenn would sometimes run the course by himself on weekends or vacation days, because it was quite peaceful and a really good workout.

When school let out in June, 2053, Glenn was looking forward to training during the summer for a couple of marathons in the fall.  Unfortunately for his plans, he didn’t make it.
