Chapter 4
Wicked Witchery

Defeated by the argument Kayla helped Rob dressing in his Pyjama. The tail had found it’s way through a hole Kayla had cut. More childish Rob couldn’t look anymore; a blue pyjama with bright yellow crescent moons all over the place. At first he whined because of how juvenile it was. However, just like what happened when he had been wearing the costume happened with the pyjama as well that he didn’t care anymore, even started to find them nice and cosy.

Subtly Kayla made herself a bit older again, her clothes scaling with her as twelve became thirteen and a half. At the same time she made Rob a bit younger. However, a bit was for him quite much as he dropped from seven to five years old. His hands became smaller and his face had a bit of baby fat.

However, as she had made him younger a spark of magic she didn’t intend to release hit both of them.

“What’s happening?” Rob bellowed when he saw black fur creep his way up to his arms and covered them completely.

“ I don’t know” Kayla gasped as she felt how whiskers appeared on her face and her nose and mouth was changing in a short muzzle. Even the mask had appeared on her face.

After losing control for a minute Kayla calmed down as she took Rob in her arms, neglecting the fact fur was growing all over her body now. Rob had started to cry as the fur crept all over his body. He was really scared now, he didn’t want to end up as an animal. Kayla tried to calm him down by softly wiping the tears from his muzzled face.

“I want mom” he said between sobs and then noticed something else as she looked up to Kayla and the fact she was carrying him without that much trouble. Fear began to rise again as he did not want to become some kind of baby.

“I’m smaller-“ he was cut off as Kayla placed a racoonish finger on his jaw and started to sing a soft melody.

Rob tried as hard as he could to keep his eyes open, the feeling something terribly was wrong remained in his head when his eyes finally gave in and he fell in a deep sleep. It was already late for a five year old boy anyway. Carefully she walked with carrying him to his bedroom that had changed drastically, it was now really a bedroom that would fit the little guy. After closing the door behind her Kayla quietly whispered to herself: “mission complete”

“Come on, come on” Kayla was in the bathroom again, without any clothes and only her fur to cover.

She had tried a lot of spells to remove the fur from her body, but every time she thought the fur was gone it grew rapidly back.

“Geez, I almost would think someone else had cast an eternity curse on it.” She gazed in the mirror.

“Not that I don’t look good” her mirror reflection was nice to look at; there was no denying in that.

In the meantime the party where Rob’s parent had attended was finished and they, drunk as a skunk tried to walk back to home, falling to the ground, standing up with laughter and yelling,

Kayla had sensed that they were coming and she was ready for their arrival. They still remembered Rob as a fifteen year old boy so that was something she had fix soon. She was really hesitating if she should use the spell that made everyone except herself think it was normal that Rob was a young anthromorphic skunk. Her magic had failed her more then once this evening and she didn’t want to cause something bad because she used the spell and something went wrong.

As the parent’s finally found their own house and wanted to insert the key in the hole they stopped moving, their skin turning to stone. She quickly made them smaller also so they fit in Kayla’s pocket.

Transforming people in stone was cruel, she knew that. However, she needed time to decide if she should use that spell or not.

Without even her magic she turned the television on and zapped through the channels to see if there was something interesting on it. Yes, even witches watch the telly.

Most of the time it was to give a chuckle and wonder how they managed to portrait witches so accurate.

However, after a while she didn’t really watch television anymore, she just stared at it as she was sunken into thoughts. Trying to discover why her magic has malfunctioned. It started off flawlessly, choosing Rob as her victim, he came pretty good along with her and that made it easier for her to manipulate him.

She had made it so he never would know it was her that did all of this to him, even if some changes weren’t really meant to happen. He suspected the witch hat, however, he forgot about that rather swiftly when they went out trick and treating, his mind was getting more juvenile and he never had noticed it. Although it really had surprised him he had become so childlike in nature even modesty was something he forgot about.

He still remembers everything that happened but his mind had been to busy to really think about it, even before he fell asleep she had kept him busy enough to not think too much about it. This was good for Kayla.

What came off a surprise for her though was how he even was having trouble remembering his real age. She knew Rob knew his real age, even if he had to think a bit harder for it but still it was odd he had so much trouble with it.

She had now two options, or she could cast the spell and pray nothing went wrong, or she could wait until it was morning and ask her sisters if they knew what caused all of this strange magical disturbances.

A while later, it was a quarter to midnight she turned off the television as it began to rain and a lightning storm began to rage over the town. It had been really loud and naturally, awakened Rob.

For a couple of minutes he didn’t understand why the bed was so large and his room looked so juvenile. He couldn’t remember his room looking different as well. He knew something was off though. Rubbing his eyes he felt the fur but only stopped when he saw his mirror image. He couldn’t believe it at first what he was seeing but then it all came back to him. His now much smaller heart began to beat faster as he knew his parents had to be home by now and he was still a young humanoid animal.

He silently, on the tips of his paws walked through the hallway and walked down the stairs, his footpads muting the sound. It was really dark and gloomy and somehow he was really scared when a lightning bolt struck far away. And he really was glad when he slowly opened the door leading to the living room and saw Kayla sitting in the couch. However, what he didn’t found normal was that a flame was floating midair, lightning up the room so she could read the book she was reading now.

Rob had been so silent not even Kayla had noticed him.

Rob’s mind was thinking really fast now as he was connecting everything. Now it all made sense to him. For him, the floating flame was proof she had been through all of this and that it was her doing he was now a young kid. However, he was really hesitating to continue. He was now scared from her as well, although she didn’t look dangerous at all. If she had done all of this it meant she had powers he had no control over and she could do with him whatever she wanted. That scared him, if he would say it openly to her she might curse him or worse he reasoned.

However, as he was standing behind the door, peeking inside Kayla had noticed him and slowly closed the book and looked straight at him.

In a sweet voice she said the following words. “what’s wrong sweetie?” her words alone caused Rob to be more comfortable. Yet, even if he was trembling in fear he gathered his courage and walked in the living room.

“y-you did c-change me? Did-didn’t you?” he asked, his voice trembling uncontrollable.

Kayla only smiled and walked a bit closer to him. She then sighed and sat down on the edge of the seat. “yeah, I did” she confessed.

Even if it meant his assumptions were right he still couldn’t really believe her that such a kind girl would do something like this to him.

“why?” he tried to control his emotions, he had no true reason to cry, except the feeling of sadness that had overcome him by this “betrayal” of her. He wiped the tears away from his face.

Kayla considered her words, she just couldn’t tell him the truth. That would be way too much for him.

“Because I found it so sad you didn’t enjoy Halloween anymore” she lied, it wasn’t the best lie she ever made.

“And, I wanted you to relive your past so you could have fun again on Halloween” she continued, even if that hadn’t been her intention it was still a valid point.

Rob was relieved, he believed her, if he had been a fifteen year old he probably wouldn’t have believed it. However, his younger body and mind made believing things a lot easier for him. However, there was another question that popped up as he softly swayed his skunk tail.

“But, why did you gimme fur?”

“Well, that part wasn’t really intentional” she made a waving gesture and the fur and tail disappeared in a instant but grew back really fast.

“Like you can see, I have a problem there”

Rob looked shocked as he reasoned he was stuck with the fur and what reactions it will cause.

“I can make you older again, however, the fur is something I still need to work out. Don’t worry sweetie, in the morning I have fixed that”

Again she took Rob in her arms and sat down in the seat. “all by all, did you enjoy the day?” Kayla put her hand under his pyjama shirt and began to stroke the fur there. Rob nodded as his body started to relax.

“How old you think you are now?” She moved her furred hand to Rob’s back and petted him there, stroking his tail as well.

“umm, I think I look like a seven year old” Kayla smiled.

“I think you look more like a five year old” she countered. Rob looked surprised; he didn’t calculate himself that young.

“Really?” he asked.

“Yes, not that is a bad thing though, you look really cute like this” if his cheeks weren’t covered with black fur he definitely would have blushed.

“Well, I don’t want wanna be five, I wanna be back older” he answered fiercely.

“why’s that? You don’t like how you are now?” she removed the upper part of his pyjama, with him barely struggling so she could stroke his fur better.

“I don’t look bad or something like that, just wanna be a big boy again” he whispered as he rubbed his eyes. He was on the verge of falling asleep again.

“why?” Kayla continued asking him. This time she would go to the end. Rob didn’t really had a answer on that.

“Because I just want to be” She was asking difficult questions.

“does that mean you don’t like being comforted and petted like now?’ with her finger she stroked the white stripe that ran from his nose to his back and ended at his tail.

“Besides, my parent-“ Rob giggled a bit when Kayla tickled him at his sides.

“what if your parents remembered that you were always a young anthromorphic skunk?” Kayla asked.

“No, I don’t wanna, I just wanna be my ol’ self again. I have friends and stuff”

“Friends huh? That’s indeed a good reason. Tell me Rob, who’s your best friend?” she said in a very sweet, almost hypnotic voice.

“that’s um, that’s umm” Rob had a hard time remembering who his best friends were. It didn’t help him that the petting really made it hard to concentrate.

“You know, in kindergarten you can make quick friends” she continued stroking him. His pyjama became a tad baggier as he became one year younger and Kayla removed the lower part of his pyjama leaving him naked.

Rob didn’t protest at all, he was too warm in those anyway. That was now naked felt totally natural for him, and with all the fur; nothing was visible anyway.

“Don’t you think Kindergarten is a nice thing for you?” The way she said it, the way she looked in his eyes, it really made it an appealing thing to say yes.

Rob had now really a hard time figuring things out, his mind was so confused now. He was a big boy, wasn’t he? Or was he? Kindergarten seemed such a nice thing to be in. However, he vaguely knew he had done that already a long long time ago.

However, each stroke Kayla did on his fur made it harder to recall those thoughts, and some things he remembered seemed absurd for his young mind. Kissing girls for example, the very thought alone made him giggle.

“Say, Rob, how old were you again?” she smiled.

“Umm, fifteen?” that number circulated in his mind, he was unsure though. The number five was much more prominent then fifteen, yet, he knew he had been older so fifteen seemed a natural number to say.

“Almost, but not quite” she grasped one of his small furred hands and put one finger down so four remained.

“four?”

“Yes sweetie, you’re becoming a big boy”

A while later Kayla was sitting in the couch, with a sleeping Rob, The telly wasn’t on anymore and the only thing that illuminated the room was the floating flame. The digital clock on the shelf read 1:13 am. Kayla was tired herself too. At the moment she wasn’t wearing any clothes either, only the fur. Her clothes had been irritating her fur too much so she had decided to let them vanish. That wasn’t a big deal for her. The fur covered her body anyway.

Rob’s parents were standing on the table, miniature statues that made the gesture of just wanting to ring the doorbell. With a wave of her hand the two statues disappeared and upstairs two parents were now sleeping in their bed. However, they didn’t look the same as before they had been petrified. They were now ten years younger and were anthromorphic animals as well.

She sighed, she hadn’t been able to undo the animal features, normally that wasn’t much of a problem if it wasn’t herself that was involved.

She had to cast one more spell, a spell that would make everyone forget any memories that don’t fit their bodies. Kayla naturally would remember but still, it meant that she would be fur coated for a really long time to come.

The house glowed brightly when she had cast the spell. And then everything was dark again.

It was early, the following morning when Kayla awakened. Something was terribly off for her at first. Everything felt much too large. However, that feeling faded slowly away as she saw her skunk brother lying against her. They must have fallen asleep early.

She jumped from the couch and stretched her small body and ran to her parents, who were feeling incredibly stiff for some odd reason as they embraced their daughter. Her mother was a racoon, her father a skunk.

The parents were quit confused, and awash in shame as they somehow didn’t call a babysitter to watch the kids. They just couldn’t comprehend how they could have left them all alone as they were partying. The thought seemed so absurd, so odd. Maybe they remembered it better later on the day, when the alcohol is gone from their bodies.

“what the?”

“I’m still a human”

“well..”

“I thought she had succeeded?”

“well..yeah. She did, however...”

“what?”

“Well... I wasn’t really in the mood of spending ten years as an animal so I had cursed her magic a tad”

“you did what?”

“well, don’t be mad. It’s only tempory.”

“how long?”

“one mortal lifetime”

“oh great”

“hey, what are you doi-ee”
