No More Annoying Leg Hair!

Chapter 2
The Concept

Chapter Description: Sammy's boss, John, talks to her about a break though idea.

"Good morning Mrs. Roberson, how are we doing this today?", Mr. Collins, or John as he told Sammy to call him, asked her as she headed into work the next morning. "Good morning to you too, sir. Doing well! And yourself?", she asked her new boss. "Fine, fine", he answered in his typical booming voice as they walked into the upstairs conference room. Mr. Collins had just recently come on board with the company she worked for, "Maceland Cosmetics". John had been hired on a few weeks ago after her previous boss had been prompted in the company. Sammy really liked John, he was only about 10 years older than her and she surprisingly found that he brought a new energy to her team. There was this father-like quality about him that she couldn’t put her finger on, but enjoyed to be around. He was cute and single too, which she didn’t mind either.

"Maceland Cosmetics" did exactly what you’d imagine they would do, they created new beauty products. Everything from hair dye to lipstick and mascara to anti-aging cream. Sammy was surprised when he initially came on board, cosmetics typically isn’t a career a man is interested in. But he surprised her with lots of new ideas and an excitement for the job. Sammy was apart of the Creative team, really focusing on marketing of new products, and John had quite the new concept for her.

"So, I just finishing talking with some of our design team members and they have been developing an interesting new concept", John started as they both grabbed a seat. There were around 15 members on the Creative team, but he had called a meeting with her to discuss something new. "What’s that?", she asked, wondering what the make-up engineers and chemist had come up with this week. "Well, you know how women are always dealing with having to shave their legs?", he asked. "Do I ever", she smiled, thinking of how she had already shaved twice this week. "Well, I think we might have a break through in some laser technology that will revolutionize the shaving business", John explained.

"Are you talking about laser hair removal? Sir, we’ve tried this in the past. There are plenty of products and devices out on the market that can permanently remove hair. There are just too many issues that come with them. There’s the rash, sensitive skin and quite honestly, the fact that people typically don’t want to be messing with a product that can permanently remove hair. Studies show that most women are afraid they could accidentally do something wrong and mess up the hair on their head. I know that’s why I haven’t used those products and the laser hair removal surgery isn’t covered by my insurance. Plus, I care too much about my legs for some product or procedure to mess up my legs, I’m sure there are a lot of women that agree with me", Sammy argued, not being rude, just simply stating her opinion and the research she had read on the subject.

"I’m so glad you said all that, because this new procedure has none of those issues. In fact, the procedure is reversible if the customer desires! Tell me, do you know why you didn’t grow dark hair on your legs until you were a teen?", John asked. Sammy was taken back by the question, "Ummm...because of puberty?". "That’s right. We are all born with hair on our legs and body, but it isn’t during puberty that it starts to darken. What if I could tell you, we could reverse this process?", John told her excitedly. "You mean anti-aging for your hair?", Sammy asked intrigued by the idea.

"That’s exactly it! Our design team has created an anti-aging device that targets hair, specifically in the legs. Just think about it. You get to have smooth legs, never worrying about shaving or stubble again. And the best part is how simple the procedure is. It’s essentially as easy as shinning a light on your legs. There’s no rash or burning and it’s reversible! So, in case anyone is worried about something going wrong, we can just reverse it later on, no harm, no foul", John finished telling her. "Show me what you got!", Sammy said with a huge smile on her face, she had been waiting for something this big to come around since she first joined "Maceland Cosmetics" 6 years ago.
