Chapter Description: Three years later.

---

Three years had passed since the night of the fire.

Thanks to Frank’s old friend who just happened to be a great computer hacker he was able to create false identities for all of them to use. Natalie and Frank were married now and they were away on their honeymoon after the few brief years of dating.

Karyn bought the old house from the happy couple since they had decided they wanted a place more remote and private.

Karyn could have afforded her own private island, but wasn’t ready to cut herself off from the rest of the world just yet.

Karyn was getting settled in and nearly ready for bed when a timid knock came at her front door.

Karyn was only a little bit surprised at first to see a small little girl about six years-old standing in her PJs on her doorstep with her feet in cute pink shoes.

“Hello, there. ” Karyn putting on a smile and hiding the fact she knew the little girl already for she had spied on her from a distance.

Karyn had looked into the car bombing and shooting at the motel to discover a woman by the name of Jennifer Emil had been staying there. When the woman vanished and a child was found it didn’t take long for Karyn to figure out what had happen.

Everyone assumed she was Jennifer Emil’s daughter and her mother had gotten away to die later. From the amount of blood found at the hotel the police were sure that Jennifer Emil was dead from blood loss.

From a conversation with her former boss Frank. Karyn discovered the woman’s full history. Now of days she was a little girl that went by the name of Emily Kurns since she had been adopted by a nice couple just a mile away.

“I need to see Doctor Mela. Tell him Jennifer Emil is here to see him. ” Emily said using her former name for the first time in years. She walked into the house looking about if expecting to see the doctor here.

“I’m sorry, does he know you? Are you related to him? ” Karyn said deciding to take this little play acting out just a little bit.

“I know you know him, lady. ” Emily said showing all the angry a little girl could display without throwing a full temper tantrum.

“I would think a woman of your age would show more maturity. ” Karyn said as she shut the front door since Jennifer or rather Emily was inside already.

“You know about me. ” Emily said taking a step back if she was thinking about running out the back door.

“Don’t bother running for the back door. I have installed a dead bolt on that door and only a key can open it.

Since your last visit I have increased the security of this house a great deal. So have you finally figured out you haven’t grown an inch since taking my first version of the youth drug? ” Karyn asked then she walked back into the living room to take a seat in her favorite Lazyboy chair.

Emily followed her to sit on the sofa before answering.

“All my school friends are a head taller then me and the girls in my class giggle when they see boys. I have gain and lost weight, but I haven’t gotten any older or taller since I have become a child again. ”

“So your tired of being six years old for three years now? ” Karyn asked amused taking a guess at her age.

“I’m seven years old in body and I should appear to be ten years old now. My foster parents have started to take me to a few doctors. I heard them talking and daddy thinks I’m a midget or something like a little person. I can see it in their eyes that they are starting to think that I’m a freak of nature. I’m scared they will find out the truth about me. ” Emily explained.

“Mr and Mrs’s Mele are away on their honeymoon. I bought this house after they moved out. We learned of your theft the same night that you sampled some of the youth drug. I was all for adopting you as my new daughter, but Doctor Mela convinced me otherwise.

When you said nothing to the police and gave them a fake first name we knew our secret was safe. Frank pointed out to me you were scared to come to us for help because you might fear his wrath. ” Karyn said telling Emily everything.

“The last person I told put two bullets in my chest. If it wasn’t for your youth drug I would be dead. But, your blessing has turned into a curse now. I need to grow up a little or age like the other kids. ” Emily said in a half begging tone.

“We have figured that out as well. The only thing I couldn’t find out was to whom you told the secret to. Besides Jennifer Emil is still being suspected of foul play and no other person could be found. ” Karyn said curious to know more. Lately there had been rumors that a company had the key to make people younger, but no word on the living forever side effect has been talked about yet.

“I don’t know what happen to him after he shot me. His name is Robert Riley. I convinced him through letters of what I could remember of the research for him to get me out of prison. He provided the funds and information while I did all the leg work. In my current state I can’t let him find me. ” Emily said as she confessed everything now.

“So you are hiding in plain site by posing as an unknown daughter to Jennifer Emil. Thanks to your foster parents you have a new last name. So as long as you play the part no one is the wiser. ” Karyn said and knew for ages she had been hiding from someone else.

“Please help me grow up or age like the normal kids around me. ” Emily pleaded and Karyn nodded.

“Fine, I will help you. I should give you another dose and watch you wiggle on the floor as a mewling newborn baby. But, instead we are going to the Riley’s house and very soon. ” Karyn said and watched as Emily worked out the meaning of her words.

“He might kill me if he finds out who I am. ” Emily said her voice rising with fear. Old childhood fears of the bogeyman had come to Emily in her dreams and most of the time it was Robert’s face she could see in her nightmares. That first year of her second childhood she had been a bed wetter.

“Well, we won’t let that happen we will? First I’m going to drive you back home so you can sneak back into your bed and in the morning I’m going to give your foster mother a call. I will tell her that I’m an expert in child growth development research. I heard that her adopted daughter could benefit from my new treatment. I will assure her that her daughter should come with me for an examination for her first treatment. A few days from now with the help of my new aging drug you will show signs of aging within a few days. Once your mother sees you out growing your clothes she will be happy to let me take you away again for another treatment. ” Karyn explained and Emily quickly agreed.

Karyn didn’t find the morning conversation on the phone easy nor the first meeting at Emily’s house.

Convincing a pair of loving foster parents to let their adopted daughter go off with a stranger was a difficult task. Karyn assured them with her medical references and even arranged Doctor Mela to give the couple a call as well.

Karyn hoped that Frank didn’t mind this little favor while he was off on his honeymoon.

Emily had the brilliant idea to pretend they had met before during one of her trips to a doctor.

Karyn explained she was there doing her research when Emily’s file came across her path.

“As you can see I’m a certified expert in my field and I can have her back in her school before lunch after her first treatment. ” Karyn said handing over copies of degrees she had earned in the last few years and a list of impressive references they could call.

Emily’s adopted father left the room to randomly call some of the numbers. He picked out the names by chance.

The brief conversations he got and straight answers he received convinced him right away. His wife was harder to convince, but in the end she almost gave into tears at the end. Perhaps she feared that Emily was some bizarre medical wonder and she would never see her again.

“If there are any doubts you may contact the police or come to my home now to see my lab. ” Karyn said knowing each of the parents had to get to work soon.

“I don’t think we need to do that. I have talked with a dozen people and I looked you up on Google when I left the room a few minutes ago. We are honored that a professional of your level should take an interest in our daughter. ” Emily’s dad, Richard said and muted any protest from his wife by putting his arm around her shoulder.

Nearly before Emily could fully believe it they were off in Karyn’s car with Emily’s foster parents looking on in a nervous way.

“Good thing they believe me when I told them I wanted my research to stay as secret as possible. So where is the Riley’s house at? ” Karyn asked and Emily gave directions to the place.

She spent years avoiding getting anywhere near the place and knew Robert’s home address from memory.

At some points she was vague in details since it been so long, but in the end they arrived at an impressive size house.

A luxury Cadillac car and SUV sat in the driveway with a lot of high tech gear in the dashboard. Karyn also noticed the baby seats in the back of both of the vehicles. There was also a privacy fence around the back part of the yard, but she peeked through a hole and Karyn saw numerous baby toys in the yard.

“If my guess is right you won’t have to worry about Robert ever again. ” Karyn said to Emily as she knocked on the door.

A woman wearing a warm looking fluffy bathrobe came to the door with a baby girl sucking away on her breast. The woman was young looking and unconcern two strangers could see her breastfeeding the baby with little modesty. The nipple of her breast was in the baby’s mouth after all.

“May I help you with something? ” Mrs. Riley asked looking at both of them in total confusion.

“Mrs. Riley, My name is Karyn and this is Emily. I wanted to talk to you about some papers your husband got from a friend of mine about three years ago. If I may hazard a guess your husband sampled a drink from a small vial marked as batch one. ” Karyn said and watched as the woman’s face went slightly pale.

“Come in. My first name is Traci. ” Traci said and ushered them both inside then spoke again.

“You don’t look old enough to want my improved version of the drug so is it money your after? ” Traci asked not worried about paying them off. Her financial resources were vast now.

“No, let me explain everything to you. ” Karyn said and told her. Traci in turn told her own story what had occurred in the past few years.

Keeping the youth drug a secret turned out to be far easier then Traci would have believed.

Anyone who attempted to leak out the story of the youth drug quickly found themselves back in diapers with a new mommy and daddy to watch over them. Not even old enough to even roll over or move on their own. Life became a living nightmare until they would give up all hope and forget their old life. They would face a decade of diapers, cribs, and bottle feedings before they would be allowed to grow up again.

Traci turned out to be far wiser then Karyn could have hoped for. Traci had been careful in giving out the research and once her own people made progress with the drug she had them change it for more profit.

The immortality side of the drug was removed so her customers would have to come back to buy more of the youth drug a few decades later down the road so they could retain their youth.

Traci of course took her own custom version so she could stay young forever to care for her babies. Now she was perfectly happy to care for her infant husband and his one time lover for the next few decades.

Emily was surprised to see a barely diaper clad baby boy about a year old standing in a playpen placed where someone might have a coffee table. The baby watched one of those pointless mindless cartoons that was playing on a impressive 72 inch TV. The show had only bright colors and music with little educational value to it.

When Traci put the other infant back into the playpen there were two diaper clad babies watching the cartoon now.

“As you can see there isn’t much left of their adult minds. I made sure to treat them as babies and I have encouraged all infant behavior. For my little angels life has become a long series of diaper changes, mommy’s titties and playing with each other. I don’t mind they haven’t matured beyond babyhood. ” Traci said waving a hand over the babies then decided to cover herself up.

Emily stepped forward and looked at baby boy that had been the adult Robert once a long time ago. He stood there looking up at her while he sucked away on his pacifier.

He showed no fear and seemed happy to study her face then he returned his attention to the cartoon on the big TV. The baby girl was currently drooling on her bare chest and didn’t seem to notice the attention all the big people were giving her.

“All this time he has been a baby and I didn’t need to worry. ” Emily said glad she could put her past self fully behind her now.

Emily knew how it felt to be treated like a child. Mostly thanks to her homework and educational games on her own personal computer she had kept her sanity this long.

Looking at the toys she saw simple playthings meant only for babies to amuse themselves with. Emily could imagine anyone exposed to this environment as a baby would give in quickly to thinking they had always been a baby.

Stackable plastic blocks, soft plush animals, and various music making toys were littered over the floor. There was nothing here to encourage the babies to mature mentally.

“Don’t let the drool and vague staring fool you. My babies are smart enough to talk to each other. They have made up their own little language between one another. Almost like twin speak you could say. It may sound like baby babble to strangers, but they talked to each other. ” Traci said to Karyn as she went over to have a look at the babies.

Karyn looked at them and saw only innocent little babies barely old enough to stand with support. They were the complete reverse of Frank when he had been regressed. Without Natalie’s help to encourage him to talk like an adult and help him in the lab Frank might have become like these babies.

Accepting their new role in life they were no threat to anyone anymore.

Karyn then talked with Traci about coming to a truce about using the youth drug and to whom to give it to. They discussed it nearly all morning before Karyn remembered she had a promise to keep.

Now friends with Karyn she said farewell to Traci then took Emily back to the lab.

There she gave her a simple injection that would take a week to work fully.

“You might want to sleep without any clothes on unless you don’t mind your clothes getting too tight while you sleep. Also wear baggy clothes at school or in public. Other wise one of your growth spurts might cause some kind of wardrobe malfunction. ” Karyn warned as she put a band aid over Emily’s new needle puncture in her arm.

Karyn then dropped Emily off at her school then called her parents telling them she was back at the school.

A week later Karyn got a phone call from Emily’s foster parents asking her for another treatment. When Karyn saw Emily next she was a little taller and looked slightly more mature in her facial features.

Karyn agreed and in their own private agreement she would give her more regular treatments. Karyn made sure Emily would always be the smallest student in every class. This was to be her punishment for stealing the research then trying to destroy the lab.

Emily learned to be more humble and turned out a little smarter since everyone she grew up with was always bigger then her.

Karyn in time would think of Emily as a step niece she never had and sometimes she would join Emily in her childhood by becoming her age or younger. Uncle Frank and Aunt Nat would be her temporary guardians when she went on her little adventures.

The friendship with Emily would spring into love later on. Karyn spent years trying to find the right guy, but she had no luck. Mentally she was a woman of fifty years with the body of a twenty five year old woman. She found it hard to relate to the younger generation of guys.

She had to be careful when talking about the past and the guys she dated sensed she was hiding something. Soon the trust would be lost and they broke up with the guy having no clue why he felt like he couldn’t trust her fully.

Then one night after teenage Emily came over to help Karyn babysit baby Rob and Sara. Karyn unexpectedly got a kissed from the younger woman just before she was ready to leave.

Karyn caught off guard for a few seconds decided to kiss her back and before she knew they were holding each other in an embrace only lovers would know.

“I have been waiting to do that since the first day you made yourself my age when I was a kid for the second time. ” Emily said breathing hard from excitement.

“Funny, if it was any other woman I wouldn’t be interested in her. ” Karyn confessed and showing she was dumbfounded by her newest lesbian interest.

She never had an interest in being gay before and like most girls she had experimented in college.

“Like calls to like. We are both women from another time. Who else could you trust and talk openly with about your life? ” Emily asked not expecting an answer. She left so Karyn could think about it.

Karyn smiled as she watched the younger woman leave and smiled with pure joy.

Like Frank and Natalie she had someone she could trust fully with all her secrets.

Karyn thought maybe after a few decades of being lovers they would grow weary of being adults. Then Frank and Natalie would be adopting a pair of little baby girls who would be very close to each other and they could share a very long childhood together as a family.
