Chapter 2

Chapter Description: The ghost appear

Chapter Two

After dinner, Lucy and I made love, and then went to sleep. It was a very exhausting day and night. Around one a.m. though, I was awakened by a noise downstairs. Lucy groaned beside me and rubbed her eyes with a balled up fist.

“Wha’ is i’?” She asked groggily from sleep.

“I dunno, I think someone might be in the house. I’ll go downstairs and check,” I said with bravado.

Lucy was awake now, “Ted, don’t. Let’s just call the cops.”

I kissed her lips and pushed her down gently back on to the bed. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back in just a minute, I probably just forgot to close a window and an animal got in.”

“Well, alright...But...” Lucy looked uncertain.

I opened the door to the hallway and looked back and tried to reassure her, “Don’t worry everything...” I tripped on one of the chest and landed right on my face. I heard a whisper of a giggle.

“Ted!” Lucy jumped out of bed and ran over to me. “Ted! Are you alright?”

“Ugh...” I groaned and used the wall to hold my weight to get up. “I’ll be alright.” We heard another giggle, closer.

“Ted? Do you hear that?”

I nodded and led her back into the room and closed the door. I turned behind to walk towards the phone and, “Boo!” A young boy appeared right in front of my face out of no where. Lucy and I screamed and the boy giggled.

“I told you they were going to be fun,” a young girl’s voice with a British accent came from no where.

“Nuh-uh! I told you,” the boy in front of us also had a British accent. He wore dark brown shorts, a matching vest, and a white, long sleeve undershirt. The kid looked about five years old and had a pasty complexion and baggy eyes, with unkempt blond hair.

A little girl walked out of Lucy’s body and Lucy fell on the floor in shock. The girl looked like the boy except she wore a blue dress and a had over her unkempt blond hair. “Who cares anyway? They are going to be soooo much fun!” She giggled and my blood grew cold. “What should we do with them first?”

“Hmm...I know...Why don’t we make them younger? That way they can play with us.”

“Yea!” The little British girl agreed.

I gulped and took a step forward, “Listen, kids,” I said in the hardest voice I could. “This is private property now get off it right now. We own this house, now go!”

Lucy shakily got up. “Yea, besides, won’t your parents be worried about you?” She asked in a caring voice.

They giggled again. “This isn’t your house! It’s the wizard’s!” The little girl announced.

The little boy nodded his head. “Yes, and now you’re our playthings. Let’s see, Bridget, you can have this one,” he said pointing at Lucy, “And I’ll have the other one! How did the spell the wizard taught us go?”

“What the hell are you kids talking about?! Leave right now before I call the cops!” I screamed at them.

The little girl giggled. “I’ll show you. I haven’t had a new dolly in such a long time, so I’ll turn her into a baby. Regressus Doseus!” She pronounced with a red glint in her eye and pointed at Lucy. Lucy screamed and fell down to the ground again.

I took a step forward but before I could reach Lucy the little boy pointed his finger at me and said, “Regressus Quintousus!” Pain shot through me as the world twisted and turned around me, the little children the center pieces and only recognizable figures.

Finally I looked around and everything looked smaller. Instead of the blue robe I wore just a few moments before, I was wearing a blue outfit that matched the little boy’s. A baby started crying and I looked for it. I exited the room and went downstairs. The chests that were in front of the door were gone now.

Down in the living room I found the two little children holding a crying toddler with red hair and watery jade green eyes. The toddler Lucy wore a pink dress that barely covered a cloth diaper and black Mary Jane with pink socks.
