Chapter Description: The first part of Irma's day, including her own nightmare begining, and her mother's entrance into it
{Irma}
Irma’s eyes blinked open, not recognizing the sheets, and she yawned loudly, like a dog. She felt a little damp everywhere, but she wasn’t too worried, everyonce in awhile, her powers would activate during the night and she would wake up dripping wet. Irma got really worried when she couldn’t push her sheets off like she usually did. They would stretch upwards, but no farther than that. She then tried to crawl out of the sheets, and realized she was naked when true morning light met her eyes and skin. Not only that, but Irma realized she was in a giant room.
"Egads! What the hell happened!" She asked to no one, but let out a yelp that sounded like it was from a wounded puppy. Her voice, it sounded...Different. Babyish she supposed. Then she turned to look in her giant vanity mirrior, even though she had to climb dozen of unread books.
The child in the mirrior was one she recognized. She saw her in pictures of her real mom. Irma wiggled her fingers, the baby mirriored her. Irma stucked her tounge out, the baby mirriored her. Irma tried to do a little dance, but the books she stood on shook too much and she fell on to the soft, sea green carpet with a gasp.
Tears welling up, she refused to give them up. I...Am...Not a baby! She screamed in her head, afraid that if she opened her mouth, a sob would come out, her lips were already quwivering.
"Irma!" Her step-mom’s sing song voice called up, "Can’t you be on time for once?!" Irma then realized what was going to happen. Her mom would come up, see her as a baby, and then she would have to explain everything. Kandrakar, the Guardians, the magic. Everything.
"Man up!" Irma whispered to her naked, babyified-self. "Your going to have to face the music anyways. You can’t just jump out the window as a baby. And who knows? Maybe it’s just mom and I can just explain it to her." A knock came from her door, and little Irma yeaped and raced into her closet.
From a crack, Irma spied her mom, Anna, poking her head through the door. "Irma? Irma, where are you?"
Grabbing a top, Irma swung the door open and walked out of the closet. Anna looked around for a moment. She had saw the closet door open, but didn’t look down to see a baby version of her step-daughter. A tiny bit irked by this responce, "Down here!" The eyes of Irma’s mom shot down to see little Irma, dressed in only a sleevless turqoise top, arms behind her back, as if she were hiding something.
Annas knees weakend, and she fell to eye level with her daughter. "Uhhh...Umm..." Was all she could mutter.
"Deep breaths," The toddler commanded, and the mother obeyed, "Good, now just stay with me...There are thousands of different worlds out there, and this cool place called ’Kandrakar’ is a big daddy of all of them. Following me?" Anna gave a little nod, her mouth still agape. "Good! Now, in order to keep order, these Guardian girls are chosen every so often, and this time I’m one of them. This gives me cool little powers and stuff. But, apparently one of our enemies decided it would be funny to turn me into a-a-a..."
"Baby?"
Irma gave an exasperated, "Yes. Thank you. Any questions?"
Anna gave her daughter a small smile, "Just one...Where’s your mommy little girl? You know, it’s agaisnt the law to break and enter houses."
Another sigh, and Irma pointed at Anna. "Please, try to be serious about this."
"I am. Do you really think I’d be able to believe that my daughter has some sort of magical powers?" A bead of water appeared out of the air and danced around Anna’s head.
"M’kaaay, den?"
Just then Irma was grabbed and thrown in a bear hug. "OhmygoshIrma! Ohmygosh! Icantbelievethishappentoyou!" Anna screamed, every sentence said so fast, it was all in one word.
"Ummmph! My...Tiny little....Lungs and ribs..."
Lossening up a big on her death grip, Anna said, "Sorry sweetie, it’s just...Too incredible. I mean, you’re a baby!"
"Yup, and you’re not making this any better."
"Ooops. Sorry. Well, I guess I better call the school...Oh oh, what do I say?"
"Umm, rough batch of the flu?"
"Yes yes, good, good." Irma’s mom rushed out and made the phone call and was back again in ten minutes. "Ok! Now we just need to find you some clothes. You might have some in the attic..."
"I guess, but lets try and find something too babyish. And no diapers!"
"Are you sure you don’t need them?"
Irma’s face went alarm red and she squeeled, "No! No! And a double No!"
"Then lets hope that we can find something..." After twenty minutes of digging through old garbage, Anna mostly, found an old toddler blouse, a onesie, dusty toddler sweats, and an unopened pack of size four huggies. "Well, the dishwashers broken, so we can’t throw them in there, but I guess I can run you over to a store and get a few things."
"No! I’m not going out in public in those!"
"Come on, Irma. No one will recognize you. Besides, it’s either this, or you’ll have to wear a onesie all day."
"Ok ok. But I’m not wearing a diaper."
"I’m sorry, Irma, but I have no idea whether or not you can control yourself, so I’m putting you in one." Horror struck, Irma just stood there as her top was ripped off her, the package of huggies opened up, and a diaper straped on her. As the onesie, blouse, and sweats were also assembled on Irma’s toddler skin, she knew it was going to be a long day.
