Chapter 2
Chapter 2

Chapter Description: None Just Yet

"Hiya, Superman!" With a smirk he was trying to pass off as a smile, the curly-haired little boy emerged from the lake and strolled naked and dripping over to the Man of Steel. "Hey jeepers, fellers! Lookit! It's Superman! What're you doin' way out here, Superman?"

Doing his best to maintain a straight face, the bemused Superman patted the little boy's shoulder. "Well son, I'm looking for a team of super-villains."

"Villains?" The boy widened his eyes. "Jiminy!"

The ten year old African-American lad who had been Black Manta treaded water, his scrawny chest bobbing up and down. "Luthor's really laying it on thick!"

"Yes!" The rail-thin, bookish chap next to him peered down his nose. One would never guess less than an hour ago he had been The Scarecrow, master of fright. "I only hope he doesn't overplay his hand!"

"I don't like this!" The dark-haired, sad-eyed boy who had been Chronos muttered. "He'll give us away!"

"Well, if he doesn't, you will!" The sawed-off kid who had been Green Lantern's nemesis Hector Hammond whispered. "Super-hearing, remember?"

"This is ridiculous!" The rosy-cheeked, slightly tubby lad who had been The Wizard groused. "If my magic wasn't lessened on this world..."

"I just wish that big blue lummox would go away!" The thin-faced, sandy-haired kid who had been Captain Cold whined. "I'm freezing my little bare butt off in this water! And at this age, I can't afford to have my peen shrivel any smaller!"

The Latin-American boy who had been the Mayan wizard Chac shivered. "The absurdity of it all..."

"...Is what will save us!" The aggressively cute child who had been The Angle Man insisted. "It's so audacious they'll never suspect it!" He splashed the startled boy. "Now c'mon, guys! We're supposed to be little kids skinny-dipping on a summer day! Start acting like it!"

"I will try!" The solemn-eyed, poofy haired boy who had been Count Vertigo ducked The Angle Man under the water, his lily white backside peeking out for a moment. "But if anyone learns of this indignity..."

Meanwhile, the pint-sized Luthor, now with hair on his head but bald in other areas, was playing the innocent country kid to the hilt. He chirped up from his diminished height at his arch-enemy, "Golly no, I ain't seen nobody like that around here, Superman!"

An idea struck the little Angle Boy as he resurfaced. "Hey, wait! I have! I've seen 'em!" He shouted over to the bemused hero. "It was a big blue flying saucer! It went that way!" He pointed in a random direction.

"Thank you, young man!" shouted Superman to the smiling boy in the water. "And thank you too," he patted little Luthor's bare shoulder.

"Anytime!" Luthor turned and ran back to the water. Superman watched him go with an amused smile. "Gee! Wait'll all the kids hear about this!"

"Have fun, boys!"

Superman waved and flew away in the direction the boy indicated.
