Retrospective
The longest Lola story available and, until "Still Rolling," the longest AR story I’d ever written. That made it unsuitable for publication in this collection when it arrived in January 2011, but I wished to include a reference to it here for completion’s sake.
Otacon came up with this idea, and while I felt it was a winner, I knew I’d have to triple the length of the common Lola story to do it any sort of justice. The key here, of course, was acquiring and maintaining the discipline to be gradual. Patience increases the impact of the payoff. Patience is not one of my virtues. And discipline, well-- that’s just one of my fetishes.
With this story, I wanted to portray what life can be like for someone like me-- somebody who has completely sexualized age regression, who can recall clearly why it interests him based on childhood events, and who can easily and unashamedly connect the developmental dots between the two. I sought to create a portrait of someone who was destined for infantilism all along and had no qualms about it, then make his dreams come true as best I could. It’s not easy miring oneself in that sort of indulgence without spiraling off into writing a book as long as Rainbow Six.
Which is why this story appears to end on a cliffhanger. It does. I had suggestions for two sequels as soon as I wrapped work on this one, but it wasn’t to be at the time. Since then, we’ve touched upon revisiting it, but I’m off the clock just now. Welcome to the proverbial "Development Hell."
Fun Fact: I wrote this entire story while watching the Transporter movies on a repeated loop. So, if you sense the extra testosterone, there you go.
Thanks for reading. -lt
