If you start a story and save the first chapter in a published state, it will publish the story. If that happens, you can go back to the story level and mark it unpublished and it will not appear to the public. Hope that helps,

How does one add a chapter to a story, I'm having trouble getting the actual story itself up

I'm not sure about this specific story, but here how I would do it: 1.Go to "my stories" => about the symbol with your face 2.Click at the story you want to add a chapter to 3.Make sure its status by "Completed" is "No"(under the description) 4.The add chapter menu should be at the top of the side right of the view count. Hope this helps!
