Chapter Description: The beginning.
*BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ...*SMASH!*
A big wolf’s paw is seen across what seems to be a broken digital alarm clock. He sits up and becomes visible with the light gleaming through the window next to him. Afterwards, he pulls his arm and hand back from the clock and sighs heavy. "Yet another day for torture.." Joe the big brown, muscular 36 year old wolf mumbles quite inaudibly as he turns around in his bed and sets foot on the ground to get ready for his day. He stands up and walks to the bathroom and looks at himself in the mirror. His thick gruff brown-color fur is prevalent among the very mature form of his wolf face. He stares into the mirror, looking into his very own tired bloodshot blue-green eyes. He puts his paw at the mirror and sighs once more. "Here we go again, once again another pointless day. I’m so tired of this!" he exclaims. He soaks his paws in the water in the sink and starts to wash his face and fixing his fur, afterwards, he scratches his tooth with a claw and then walks out of the bathroom, not even bothering to bathe even though he looks rather dirty. He steps through soda cans, around several empty plates and random trash from candy wrappers to old boxes until he eventually gets to his drawer. He pulls out a random shirt and slips it on, followed by some torn blue jeans. He grabs his keys off the counter and walks out of his one-bedroom apartment and to his car.
He opens the door to his car only to hop up as water hits his feetpaws. "Dammit!" He shouts a bit irratated as he looks at the otherside of the car and notices that it’s been broken into. The passenger’s side window lies shattered and broken to peices and the radio from inside gone. He forcefully opens the door and sits inside. "This is not a good way to start my day. Guess it happens, i’ll just jack another." he thinks as he turns the key and turns the ignition. The car starts and he’s on his way. He looks around as he drives, looking at the little cubs playing, people walking and hoots just being happy. "Stupid people!" he growls a bit and mumbles under his breath very bitterly. He turns a corner sharpy and parks at the curb, finally infront of his workplace. He walks in and does his routine 12 hours of hard labor. He works heavy machinery and lifts nothing but crates all day.
After the long hard shift he comes out of the warehouse and flexes his arms quite tiredly. He walks to where he parked his car only to find it’s not there. Joe goes absolutely berserk as he starts to yell many profanities. After a while he calms down and thinks a bit. "Gah.. what now!? First my radio gets stolen and now they go and jack my whole car!" He starts to walk down the street. As he walks through the dark alley road in the middle of the night, he trips on a bottle and lands hard on his elbow and knees. He growls a bit peeved as he stares ahead. Infront of him lies a small gold colored statue on it’s side of what seems to be an infantile fox. He picks it up and inspects it. His elbows ache and it appears that they are bleeding some. He slowly stands to his feet and sticks the figure in his pocket, thinking once more. "Ow.. I guess I can go sell this thing somewhere."
As he arrives to his house he undresses and falls stright into bed, not before looking at the statue once more. "What the hell is this thing? It’s so.. cute?" he earperks as what he said felt weird. "Whatever this is, I just hope it’s good." He sets it down on the bedside table and turns off the light. He then lies down in bed and closes his eyes as he thinks to himself. "I wish I had a better life, I wish it was much easier. I don’t want to live like this anymore.." He moves around, every part of his body seems to feel sore, from his hands and arms and legs, to his knees and feet. Even down from his neck, down his back to the very end of his tail. He groans a bit and falls asleep after a brief period of thinking about his pain.
The next morning he awakes slowly, his vision blurred a bit from sleeping so long. He struggles to get out from underneith some thick covers. He stretches and yawns a bit. He then rubs his face, earperking. "Wait.. something feels weird." He looks at his paws, they appear to be much smaller and softer than before. He rubs his eyes in disbelief. "What’s going on, my fur isn’t this thin!" He then shakes himself out of the covers, noticing his thin small body. Thing arms, legs, thin fuzz on his tummy, smaller everything. "What’s happening!?" he shouts and he hops off the bed and falls quite a distance, falling on his naked bottom. "Ow!" Joe whines and stands up, walking to his bathroom, he looks around and notices that all the trash from before is gone.. this is quite puzzling to him. He continues onto the bathroom and looks up. He notices the sink and the mirror are way too high for him to see himself in. "Ahh, what the!? Did I... get smaller?" He walks out of the bathroom and opens the closet with the full legnth mirror. He then stares in complete shock. "Oooh my.. am I?" He puts his paw to the glass, the now small brown wolf looks at himself in the mirror. He barely stands three feet tall. His fur looks soft and short, especially on his tummy and chest, everything about him looks small. He puts his paws on his short snout curiously. "Wha’s happened to me?" He continues to look into the mirror and notices a gleaming light coming from the statue. He quickly looks back. "That thing!" He runs over to his bedside table and trips. He quickly gets back on his feet and looks at the statue. "This thing?"
He reaches to touch the statue, suddenly, the fox on it begins to move and dissappear. He stares at just the platform and looks closer to insepct it. "What happened to the baby fox?" he says confused. Suddenly two white paws are seen wrapping around the wolf’s waist and picking him up. "Gotcha cub!" an older grown voice says from behind him. Joe looks to see this person talking. He see’s a tall pure white fox with bangs and black ear tips. He seems tall and normal. The fox smiles and then says "Hello there, seems you’re getting to know your new cub self." Joe headtilts. "Cub? I’m no cub, i’m a full grown..." and he stops after remembering what he just saw in the mirror. The fox continues smiling and nods.
"I’m the spirit of the fox kit statue. I noticed that you were such a bad wolf! You were stealing, you skipped out on school and worst of all, you were never very sanitary so I decided, you need a parent and that you need to be taught how to be a big wolf."
"A big wolf? I already know what i’m doing." Joe says in protest.
The fox replies, "I’m afraid not, only a cub without rules, without disipline would be so dirty and bad and do all those things."
Joe growls, "Are you judging me? I am not bad!"
The fox shakes his head and chuckles. "Well, I think you are and I think that you need to be a cub again. You’re now a four year old wolf. A cute little cub you are too."
Joe grows red, getting quite angry. "I am not a little cub!" he shakes, trying to get away from the fox. He then notices that his small form doesn’t even move the fox, he’s a bit helpless at this point.
"Shhh" the fox smiles and sits on the bed. "Calm down and think baby, I don’t want to have to punish you on your very first day of being a cub." He strokes his headfur and whispers into his ear. "I am only a incarnation of your most true and deepest desires. I am only here because it’s what you wanted."
"Wha, what I wanted?" Joe asks.
The fox nods. "Yes child.. you said you wanted a better life, that you diddn’t want what was happening to you anymore. When I heard you, you awoke me from the statue."
"You.." Joe then gets cut off.
"You are now my cub, and I want to make your life better for you, my little cub Joey. You deserve so much in this world and I want to give it to you. I want you to be a happy wolf so, I made you a cub, where you can live your days with less stress of the real world. Now you don’t have to be alone, worrying about every waking moment, taking other people’s things or even being dirty because i’ll take care of all of it for you." The unknown fox smiles and hugs him securly. "Just call me DaddyFox."
"D...daddyfox?" he looks down, still trying to take in his whole situation. "H...how long am I gonna be like this?" Joe squirms nervously and then settles down a bit more.
"Only till I think you’re ready for the real world again as a nice productive fox, happy and full of life. But for now, all you have to worry about, is being my little baby cub." DaddyFox sets Joey down on the bed and gets some clothes from his drawer. He takes out a spiderman t-shirt, some short boy-shorts and a pair of socks and underwear. "Now let me get you dressed okay cub? You don’t look right being naked like that.
Joey just gives in without much protest since he figured if he tried to say anything, he’d only make it hard on himself. Suddenly, DaddyFox is already in the middle of changing him. First, he slides some underwear up to his waist and adjusts his tail correctly. The underwear seem to be very juvinille, they have a red colored waistband and leggings with little cartoon prints adorned all over. Afterwards, DaddyFox slides on a Spiderman T-shirt over his head. Joey looks down at the clothes and can’t help but smile a bit. All this attention, even though he’s not used to it, it is starting to make him happy. Finally he feels his shorts getting slid on and then DaddyFox sits him up and slides little socks onto his small feetpaws, these are adorned with teddybears. "There we go my precous cub Joey! All ready for the day ahead!" DaddyFox picks Joey up and takes him into the next room....
A wolf's beginning.
